The festival was slowly coming to an end but still there were increases. So to see on the American heavy metal band HolyHell. With their equally named debut album they wanted to conquer the Belgium audience (extended by the Dio classic "Holy Diver") and that they reached for sure.
Also this show did not take place without technical issues but keyboarder Francisco Palomo was able to handle them easily and got rid of them even during the concert professionally. And so he was able to support singer Maria Breon undisturbed who fit really well to the very straight ahead metal music with her rock vocals. Both were real stage hogs delivering and absolutely perfect show.
They were completed by Joe Stump on guitar. Such terific solos I have not heared very often and especially of such various styles! During that he was standing completely relaxed in front of his loudspeakers and played them simply down as if it would be the easiest thing in the world.
Their music made me think heavily of Nightwish but anyhow there was something discrete and was simply making a lot of fun. So it was not very surprising that they were enthusiastically celebrated by the audience. I think that during the upcoming years there will be more to be heared of this band. Live it was in any case already really gorgeous!
