For Midnattsol it was already the third gig on this festival. Of course they had also their new CD "The Metamorphosis Melody" with them of which you could hear the one or the other song.
Origianlly it was planned that they should play the third from last slot of the day on which now Draconian could be heard. But due to the fact that they had to get earlier to the airport the schedule was changed a little bit short termed. Never mind! The band was highly motivated when they came onto the stage and presented a terrific show. Especially positive was that the audience was directly from the first minute with them suporting them as hard as they could. So it was quite easy for singer Carment Espenaes and her band. Very well-made was the nice compilation of new songs like the title track of the new CD "The Metamorphosis Melody" or the powerful "Kong Volemons Kamp" and the older songs like "Northern Light". On, just like in front of the stage hair and arms were waving through the air.
From my point of view the best gig that I have yet seen of Midnattsol. No matter if it was Carmen who vocally could completely convince or the bassist Birgit Öllbrunner who encouraged the audience to take part. As well guitarist Alex Kautz could impress the crowd with his solos. Although it was quite a bit early that day that did not matter to the atmosphere on and in front of the stage. One of my highlights of that day.
