Wacken Open Air XXIII
Wacken (Germany)
(Pentax K-5 with Sigma AF 70-200mm 2.8 EX DC APO HSM II)
The first band of the day, the sun is shining, atmoshere is great, so is there anything you could want more? Betontod is a combo from Rheinberg that opened the morning with proper punk.
Very well done was the fact that not only singer Oliver Meister but also guitarist Frank Vohwinkel interacted a lot inbetween the songs. Was it to tell short stories relate to the songs or went directly in front of the stage to the breakwaters to directly get in contact with the crowd. But also the other band members were doing everything to heat up the atmosphere furthermore.
They presented songs of the presently released five albums where the last one was not yet released officially. "Entschuldigung Für Nichts" it will be called and on that day the name giving single was having its live premiere at the Wacken. Although it was quite early in the morning there was already quite hilarious party atmosphere in front of the stage what brought a lot of fun to the artists.
Simple and easy punk really making good moods. After the really great gig you were directly at working temperature for the whole day. It could continue like that.
