Four years ago I saw Lahannya for the first time on Metal Female Voices Fest and now for the 10th jubilee they again were able to show whether they enhanced. The British with the remarkable blue curls had just like the last time her bassist and co-songwriter Lutz Demmler with her. Completed the two were by guitarist Christopher Milden and drummer Luca Mazzucconi.
Four years ago they brought their CDs "Shotgun Reality" and "Defiance" with them but today also something of their latest album "Dystopia" could be heard. And that was a real evolution. Were the first two albums more industrial based so they now had much more rock sounds integrated what was really beneficial for the music. Already during the opener "Dystopia" you could obviously realize that the band developed very good. At "Save Me" pyros were even used what I had not seen before at a band playing at the afternoon on this festival. That was normally a privilege to the headliner but was fitting quite well. The only one that is showing a held back performance was Lahannya herself the band members were only statically standing around. But that was no problem as the music was speaking for itself and did not need the whole schmear. That was also recognized by the audience and there was a good but not euphoric atmosphere in front of the stage.
So, in case that Lahannya is continuing consequently their chosen way then you will for sure hear of hear also in a bigger setting. At least she contasted quite refreshing from the rest of the current line-up.
