The next one entering the stage was Tristania with a new band cast. Besides singer Mariangela Demurtas there was also her male counterpart new cast by Kjetil Nordhus. Both were wonderful complementary not only during their solos but also during many duets.
The music more settled at the gothic area was very intense and offered a cross section of songs of old albums but also lots of their latest album "Rubicon". Therefore not only hard riffs and growls were presented but again and again the acoustic guitar was used by Kjetil. Mariangela was for sure what you would call small but oh my. Her voice has a great range perfectly fitting to the music of Tristania and from show point of view she was simply swirling across the stage.
In front of the stage it was beforehand already quite crowded and the venue was filled quite well for the first time of the day (although there were less people compared to the year before). Tristania knew quite well how to take the crowd with them and also guitarist Gyri Smørdal Losnegaard was towards the mid of the concert finally happy when the technical issues could be overcome with the help of a roady. That was really enthusing what the Norvegians showed and in each case one of the highlights of that evening.
