Just in time to their gig the Canadian band The Agonist arrived at the venue (as they got stuck in a traffic jam Sarah Jezebel Deva was alread brought forward). But also here like on the previous band there were issues.
By the delay already teed off the sound engineers were not able to put Alissa White-Gluz in-ear monitors to an adequate volume. Even though she showed them many times nothing seems to be happening until she finally was losing it and went off stage during a song to put the skids under the sound engineer.
As their music is more in a metal core way and Alissa was grunting as well as she was singing with a great clear voice the songs were performed by the built-up anger even better. The set was somehow shorter as planned but instead extremely good and powerful. Alissa but also the guys were pushing the crowd on and on and were agressively going to the front of the stage. The crowd willingly followed them and supported the band by shoutings and raised arms. Under better circumstances this could have been an even better concert but also now it was one of the best of this festival. I could have heared more of it and many others were thinking the same. So let's see and wait whether I will have the opportunity to watch them on another gig live again.
