The second act I chose to look at that day was the Norwegian band Kvelertak playing at the Bullhead City tent. Many others seemed to have had the same idea because the tent was quite crowded when the guys around singer Erlend Hjelvik entered the stage starting directly extremely powerful.
Their music, a mixture of rock and punk with black metal influences, was quite straight forward. The band showed maximum commitment and so very fast the first members got rid of their outerwear. Really great was front men Hjelvik interacting all the time with the audience and also risking a climbing action on the mast of the stage (I wonder if Airbourne front men Joel O’Keeffe was watching?). They had the reputation to be a very good live band and I have to admit that they really proved it that afternoon. I for my share liked them quite well.
