Friday noon as one of the first artists of the 2024 edition of the M’era Luna festival Dave Jason also known as Schwarzer Engel was allowed to enthuse the not very small audience in front of the Main Stage. I was following this project already for some years now and also some of his albums. So it was the time now to finally convince myself of the live skills of the singer.
For his live gigs he always has several musicians crowded around him which support him accordingly. So, he was directly starting at his speaker’s desk with the announcement “Krähen An Die Macht” of the 2018 album “Kult Der Krähe” and was then working across his former oeuvre. And that was not that simple with only 30 minutes of time available for his set. Nevertheless, he managed to do so in an outstanding way and with a great and varying stage show. The latest album “Höhere Gewalt” was with the songs “100 Jahre” and “Hitsingle” as well represented as “Königin Der Nacht” of the 2011 album “Träume Einer Nacht”.
From my point of view it was really a great show that Schwarzer Engel delivered. Super voice, good sound and an enthused audience made from my M’era Luna premiere a terrific experience. Unfortunately, Schwarzer Engel was only allowed for a very limited time to show his skills so that I will look around whether he is somewhen nearby with a more extensive gig.
